A Passion for Speaking to Students

By Byron

March 29, 2020

Speaking to Students is not glamourous. Lots of time in the car. Early mornings. Bad weather. Deer. Traffic jams. With more miles come more frequent oil changes and car repairs.

But i LOVE it.

Sometimes there were BIG student audiences. Sometiimes the audiences were small. Sometimes the smae kid would hear me speak multiple times in a day, and sometimes even hear the same presentation multiple times.

There were always energetic and motivated students but there were always sleepy and apathetic students too.  Every school was different, Every group of students a new experience.

I met a lot of great students, teachers, coaches, parents and school administration over the years. I've spoken to students as world events happened in real time as I spoke. I've spoken to students who would go on to do GREAT things. I've spoken to students who made some poor choices too. I've seen a lot speaking to students; I've learned a lot too.

Even after all these years, speaking to students is such a privelege.
